Whatever ails your mind, body or soul, the healing power of laughter can never be underestimated. Laughter As Medicine is Barbara McMichael’s latest feature article. For a little lesson in Italian, please see The Rich, RICO and The Godfather. Where is Don Vito Corleone when we need him? Annie Searle examines the Department of Justice in her articleJustice Delayed is Justice Denied.” Nick Licata urges Conservatives to be Cautious: Serfdom Could Lie Ahead. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Pen Densham believes a single photograph can vibrate with the same energy as a movie. In honor of International Women’s Month, our featured Art is the Impressionist painting Fish Shop by Georges-Henry Fauvel. In Time Marches On, there is a bit of trivia that is bound to make you laugh.  ––Patricia Vaccarino

Laughter as Medicine by Barbara Lloyd McMichael   In Seattle, Jessica Brustad has been a certified Laughter Yoga Instructor since 2015. “I knew laughter made me feel good,” she explains on her website, The Funny Yogi. When you realize you can laugh for no reason and still get all the benefits with none of the down sides, it’s like a SUPER POWER!”

Keith McNally: Fanfare For The Uncommon Man by Patricia Vaccarino  Make no mistake, Keith McNally’s memoir is a New York Story. Any person who goes to New York City, like McNally did, and is young, smart, ambitious, willing to work hard, with a sprinkling of verve, raw talent, and a modicum of good looks to wit, will almost always get a come-up from the right people.

Pen Densham’s Cinematic Nature Photography Pulses With Life by Dea Shandera-Hunter  Pen Densham’ new body of impressionist nature photography creates images that shimmer with joy, vitality, and in what he describes as the biological instincts of being alive.

The Rich, RICO and The Godfather by Patricia Vaccarino  What would The Godfather think of Jeffrey Epstein’s Cabal? Unlike the working-class Mafia who knew they were breaking the law, Jeffrey Epstein’s Cabal thinks they are above the law. They put things in writing and contributed mightily to the six million documents that comprise the Epstein files, leaving an electronic tail longer than a comet.

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied by Annie Searle  We are at an historic inflection point where the independence of the Justice Department to investigate and recommend (and, in some cases, monitor) outcomes has been seriously compromised. Loyalty is to the President, not the Constitution.

Conservatives Be Cautious: Serfdom Could Lie Ahead by Nick J. Licata  If conservatives accept President Donald Trump’s agenda to dismantle our republic’s laws and principles, they could go down The Road to Serfdom. Economist Friedrich argued that fascism, Nazism, and state-socialism had common roots in central economic planning by empowering the state over the individual.

Fish Shop by Georges-Henri Fauvel French Artist Georges-Henri Fauvel (1861–1930) had a penchant for painting royal dogs, especially hunting dogs. He was probably paid handsomely by patrons for painting their beloved hounds. What made him paint “Fish Shop” is anyone’s guess. These fish ladies were undoubtedly less valuable than dogs.     –Patricia Vaccarino

Time Marches On by Patricia Vaccarino  March is also known for some fairly absurd modern-day holidays that are made up by P.R. people who are conjuring a story that can be spun to the media. The month of March is also ripe with superstition and storytelling. Consider a saying as old as the hills: Time Marches On.
