PR for People

About PR for People

PR for People has evolved to become the leading news site that covers people who are doing extraordinary things. Even though the media is highly fragmented, there is no better way to earn credibility than to get authentic news coverage—that’s what we do! We give people a place where they can share their news with the world.

Our History

In 2003, Patricia Vaccarino founded Xanthus Communications LLC, a Seattle-based PR firm that offers a full range of PR services with its core expertise in media relations. Clients included companies and organizations of all sizes, as well as individuals. Through her work as a PR practitioner, Ms. Vaccarino came to the realization that individuals need to promote themselves just as companies do. However, most individuals cannot afford the high price of retaining a PR firm.

In 2007, she created a spin-off entity, PR for People®. The PR for People® website was originally designed to give subscribers the ability to manage their own public relations outreach. Subscribers paid to build their own online press kits. They also received media opportunities from the press.

PR for People is Many Things

In August 2012, PR for People launched a digital magazine, The Connector, that features news stories about the subscribers of PR for People. The monthly magazine is currently transmitted to a proprietary list of thousands, half of whom are journalists.

During 2015, PR for People expanded The Connector magazine by launching a news portal. The news portal features stories about people who are engaging, compelling and newsworthy. The email news flash platform launched in 2017. Podcast production made its debut in 2018. Learn more about PR for People.

Today PR for People no longer offers PR services through its news portal and is the leading news site that exclusively covers people who are doing extraordinary things in the world. The people we write about are business professionals, creative professionals, performing artists (entertainers), authors and academics.

Through the work of our freelance writers and journalists located throughout the U.S., we deliver news about real people.
