 Tracey-Lee Lusty, a full time attorney, part time health and fitness blogger from Cape Town, decided it was time to make a change and regain her health. Her journey began in August 2016 after reaching 115kgs, the heaviest she has ever been. She started an Instagram account to document her transformation journey and to remain accountable to herself. She quickly gained a following, thus the brand FITNESSGIRL was born. She realised that people were desperate for a genuine account of weight loss struggle. She uses her platform to inspire and empower others to make a positive change in their lives.

Dereleen James is a fighter, an activist, but first and foremost a mother. This mother wrote a letter to the then State President Jacob Zuma in 2013. It remains a heart wrenching open letter highlighting the harsh realities of a mother living with a child addicted to drugs. It breaks the silence and focuses on the stigma these mothers deal with on a daily basis.

Your names always went together, or maybe after 30 years of marriage, one remembers the names like that, like salt and pepper. You can imagine the surprise and shock when I got the news- actually delayed news. I received a message late at night/early morning, telling me to please phone, it’s not good news, it is devastating news.

 Top Chef Margot Janse couldn’t turn a blind eye from children who go to school hungry.  Today she helps to feed the local children nearest her and the numbers of children being fed are increasing. Her Charity Isabelo- Feeding Hungry Minds started in 2009, whilst she was at Le Quartier Francais, a Boutique Hotel in Franschhoek. (Food and Wine Heartland outside of Cape Town)
