Tim Girvin | Designer Genes

GIRVIN’S HISTORY IS IN SCIENCE. Tim Girvin comes from a medical family and his own collegiate legacy was marine biology, comparative zoology, invertebrate physiology and botany. Tim studied dolphin intelligence in his first collegiate gig under colleagues of Dr. John Lilly.

GIRVIN has a wealth of experience designing within the science field. Tim and his teams have done everything from logos, visual corporate repackaging, and copy writing, to innovation summits and brand redefinition workshops; as well as engineering programs to tell brand stories through collateral, exhibits, and trade shows.  Here are select examples from his health, wellness, science portfolio.

Seattle BioMed: Seattle Biomedical Research Institute; renamed by GIRVIN, “Seattle Biomed” — and recently renamed by their internal teams. Creating empowering messaging with their core positioning: “Freedom from Infectious Disease” and the design of an innovative identity, exhibits, donor and place signing as well as websites, collateral, marketing and event materials.

Omeros: GIRVIN has a long legacy in close partnership with Dr. Greg Demopulos — from identity to website, collateral systems & marketing visualizations.

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance | Proton Beam: Tim and his teams designed experiential environmental patient treatment visual programs for patients and consulting physicians, founded on a metaphorical strategy of ferns and healing plants, arrayed as a patient experiential sequencing and recovery journey.

Care Innovations: Partnering with Intel and GE internal marketing teams, and Make It Matter, in a consortium for brand-building alignment, GIRVIN’s teams worked on collateral and identity systems for product development and deployment of Intel, home-based customer surveillance and care management.

Girvin built design programs for wellness groups Institute for Systems Biology, Duke University’s Genome Institute, evolutionary strategies and design for Immunex | Amgen, launch strategy and branding for Sonicare and Bastyr University.
