“Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.”  Gary Gruber-Mai talks about this, love or money and immigration challenges.

Please introduce yourself.

My name is Gary Gruber-Mai; I am 39 years old and currently live in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I was born in Vereeniging in Gauteng province in South Africa. I had officially immigrated to Canada in November 2012

Message to Bed, Bath & Beyond: Free the PODS!

Hi! It's Media Bitch here! Did you know that mega chain store Bed, Bath & Beyond locks up its laundry and dishwashing soap PODS, so addicts and homeless people don't shoplift them? it seems as though  PODS can be turned into quick cash on the mean streets of downtown Seattle. The Launch of MEDIA BITCH!

Hey, it’s Media Bitch here! Check out my pic, warts and all. I’m the real deal. I’m here to tell your miserable story to the world. There’s a lot of talking going on about consumers losing their rights, or having no rights.  What happened with Dr. David Dao on United Airlines is a classic case of consumer rights gone wrong in extremis. And there is no doubt that Dr. Dao’s egregious mistreatment at the hands of airline officials will result in his receiving a HUGE financial settlement. But most consumer violations aren’t like that! Every day consumers suffer from slights, indignities, and injustices, but these stories rarely make the news because they aren’t sensational enough. Media Bitch is here to rescue you. Got a complaint that bites? Tell me about it!

From Denver: The Law

Not far from where I live in a swarm of suburban housing, there is a federal prison. Usually my exposure to this compound is limited; I often take, out of conscience or convenience, Wadsworth Blvd instead, a road not inhabited by the hulking reminder of our broken penal system.

But not long ago I was driving with my 9-year-old nephew to an odd part of town, not North West towards Denver like I usually gravitate ---ebb and flow,...
