Hello! I hope this email finds you well! It’s a rare occasion when I can see my friends from all over the country in the same space at the same time—that time has come because the third book in my Yonkers Trilogy, called “So Not Yonkers,” has been published. The Yonkers Public Library has asked me to be in an author chat via zoom on Thursday, June 22.
I feel a deep sense of accomplishment because Yonkers has long been neglected in the literary world. My books about Yonkers are the only works of literary fiction that focus on this city. Lawrence Ferlinghetti was born in Yonkers, but that fact is frequently omitted from his bio data. Don De Lillo lived in Yonkers for many years, but he never wrote about Yonkers in fiction or nonfiction. Neil Simon wrote "Lost in Yonkers," but that was a play and he was from the Bronx. Click Here to check out “So Not Yonkers.”
My hometown Yonkers finally has its rightful place under the sun! Please join me in this celebration!!!
It would mean so much to me if you could attend my author chat via zoom. You can sign up by clicking on this link. –Patricia Vaccarino
